Cosa è un filtro a coalescenza?

Un filtro a coalescenza è costituito da un letto di fibre speciali in cui entra un gas carico di particelle liquide (nebbie) e da cui esce un gas pulito e un condensato liquido.

What is a coalescing filter?

A coalescing filter is a special fiber bed into which enters a gas carrying mists and out of which gets out a clean gas and a separated condensate liquid.

Le speciali fibre sono compattate dentro due reti metalliche o di altro materiale.
Il gas entra da un lato e attraversa lo strato di fibre in orizzontale. Dall'altro lato del letto coalescente esce il gas pulito che sale verso l'alto e il liquido separato che viene convogliato verso il basso.

Le reti metalliche sono disponibili nei seguenti materiali:

- acciao al carbonio
- acciaio inox
- acciaio speciale
- PVDF
- polipropilene

Le fibre speciali sono normalmente su base vetro ma sono disponibili anche fibre in polipropilene, poliestere e altri materiali in dipendenza del tipo di processo in cui i filtri verranno utilizzati.

The special fibers are packed between two screens which are made out of metal or other material. The gas carrying mist enters from one side of the coalescing bed and crosses the fibers horizontally.
From the other side of the coalescing bed emerges the clean gas which rises to the exit and a liquid condensate which is directed downwards.

The metal screens are available in the following materials:

- Carbon steel
- Stainless steel
- Special alloy steel
- PVDF
- Polypropylene

The special fibers are usually glass based but they are also available in polypropylene, polyester, and other materials, depending from the type of process in which the coalescing elements will be used.
